"Lotta Moberg, an analyst on William Blair’s Dynamic Allocation team, notes that the big issue being fought over, namely Ukraine’s membership in NATO, is one neither side wants. The preferred outcome would be the status quo—no membership for Ukraine, but not ruling out the possibility of it in the future.

If Moberg is right, that would seem to indicate that buying Russian stocks now is a good bet, at least for a long-term investor."
